This cycling jersey is the vintage-styled race kit of the M.I.C. Moneymakers de Gribaldy professional cycling team, this Belgian squad was active from 1974 to 1976.

1. Era & Background Story

● Design Origin & Timeline: M.I.C. Moneymakers de Gribaldy, also known as Miko–de Gribaldy, was a Belgian professional cycling team founded in 1974. The legendary directeur sportif Jean de Gribaldy gave the team its name. M.I.C. / Miko, the French ice cream manufacturer, acted as the title sponsor, with Ludo as the secondary sponsor. The squad took part in major European stage races and classic one-day races through its three-season run.

● Cycling Culture Behind The Design: In the mid-1970s Belgian cycling scene, bold striped jerseys became a striking way to showcase sponsor branding. This black and orange horizontal striped design was instantly recognisable on the race roads, representing the classic retro aesthetic of Belgian pro cycling kits of that period.

2. Key Design Elements

● Visual Theme: Black base jersey with wide horizontal orange stripes across the torso. Short sleeves feature orange cuffs trimmed with thin black lines. The collar adopts orange and black double stripe trim, with a full-length front zipper.

● Brand Markings: Large bold white "M.I.C. MONEYMAKERS de GRIBALDY" lettering dominates the centre chest. The chest also displays Le Coq Sportif rooster emblem and Puma logo. Partial "LU" branding runs down the outer side of each short sleeve.

● Technical Features: Full-length centre-front zipper, classic short-sleeve race cut, lightweight breathable mesh fabric, finished hem with gripper binding, built for professional road racing performance.

● Wilfried Wesemael: A talented Belgian rider on the Miko–de Gribaldy roster, he claimed multiple stage wins in European stage races during his time with the squad.
