This cycling jersey is the vintage-styled race kit of the DAF Trucks–Lejeune professional cycling team, this Belgian squad was active for the 1980 season.

● Design Origin & Timeline: DAF Trucks–Lejeune was a Belgian professional team formed for the 1980 racing season. DAF Trucks, the Dutch truck manufacturer, acted as title sponsor, paired with French bike maker Lejeune supplying the team frames, while PZ joined as a secondary sponsor. The squad competed in Belgian classics and major European stage races across the single season.

● Cycling Culture Behind The Design: The early 1980s Belgian peloton favoured clean white base jerseys accented by vertical red and blue stripes. This simple, high contrast striping layout maximised sponsor branding visibility, a classic aesthetic of Belgian professional race kits of this transitional era.

2. Key Design Elements

● Visual Theme: Clean white base for the full torso and sleeves. Vertical paired red and blue stripes decorate both sides of the front zipper, at the shoulder seams, and on the lower torso. Collar and sleeve cuffs are finished with matching horizontal red-white-blue triple bands.

● Brand Markings: Large bold black "DAF" lettering dominates the centre chest, with smaller "Trucks" and "LEJEUNE" printed underneath. A "PZ" logo sits in a black rectangular box above the DAF branding. Partial DAF lettering appears on each short sleeve.

● Technical Features: Full-length centre-front zipper, classic short-sleeve race cut, and a finished hem with gripper binding. The construction reflects the lightweight, performance race apparel aesthetic of professional cycling in 1980.
