The Weinmann–Eddy Merckx iteration was formed for the 1991 season, pairing Weinmann's title sponsorship with Eddy Merckx frames and edco components, and the squad earned selection to start the 1991 Tour de France.
● Cycling Culture Behind The Design: The early 1990s marked the tail end of the colourful, horizontally banded multi-sponsor jersey era in European road racing. Bold typographic sponsor blocks, high-contrast stripework, and mismatched sleeve colours were a defining look of the peloton at the time, before kits grew more streamlined in the mid-decade.

● Visual Theme: Built on a black upper chest, the torso features stacked horizontal bands in bright lime green and royal blue, separated by thin black lines and a small triangular blue accent at the centre. The sleeve colours are deliberately split — the wearer's right sleeve is finished in lime green while the left sleeve is royal blue. Both side panels run in blue, carrying vertical sponsor lettering.
● Brand Markings: The dominant centre-chest block displays "WEINMANN" in bold black capitals on a white field with a green outline, directly above a yellow band bearing "EDDY MERCKX" in black lettering. The Eddy Merckx monogram sits on the left chest, and the edco triangular horse logo appears on the right chest. Vertical "WEINMANN" text runs down both side panels.
